It seems to me that most skyline quotes say, “Look at me.” This is often a sign of self-awareness that the reader can relate to (or at least, they might get the reference). However, the fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. When we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.
We’re supposed to be on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot.
